About Me

Welcome to Daily Money Shot! Thanks for stopping by!

A little bit about me: I become interested in personal finance in 2006 when I found out I was pregnant. My husband and I were deep, deep in debt and we realized that we had to make some serious changes if we were going to afford our little newborn. In February 2007, we made the commitment to eliminate our debt and, with the exception of our morgtage (and his student loads) we’ve accomplished our goal.

One of the benefits of paying off our debt was the fact that in April 2012, I was able to quit my full-time job to pursue my dream of writing full-time. It’s not easy, and I’ve got a long way to go, but I’ve never been happier in my life.

What you’ll find here at DMS is a good time. I like to tell stories, discuss my mistakes, and share with you all the information I wish I had learned so that you don’t find yourself in the same mess I worked my way out of. Occasionally, I’ll thrown in a how-to or some sage advice about life (and by “sage advice” I really mean some ramblings with a bit of insight) just to round it all out. You’ll find pop culture references in abundance and if I’m doing this right, you’ll pick up a few tidbit of good information along the way.

If you’re stopping by for the first time, make sure to check out my most popular posts (links are in the sidebar) as well as my series “The Oregon Trail Guide to Personal Finance” (just click on the button in the sidebar). Those are a good place to start to get a feel for what DMS is all about.

I love to interact with my readers so if you have any questions, comments, suggestions for posts or topics you’d like me to write about, feel free to contact me.

I truly appreciate you taking the time to hang out here for awhile. I hope you like what you read and come back to visit again!
